Around 3 a.m. Monday, a call was received by the Kern County Fire Department for a structure fire at 711 Weedpatch Hwy. in Bakersfield, causing $200k in damages to the units.

MEXICO CITY — Authorities said a shootout between troops and suspected drug traffickers in northern Mexico has killed two soldiers and four gunmen. The Defense Department says the clash began when gunmen opened fire on a military patrol Sunday in the town of Doctor Arroyo, in Nuevo Leon state.
